Print Production & Print Supervision: From File to Paper Without Surprises
Short answer: Print production means the design doesn't end on the screen.

Short answer: Print production means the design doesn’t end on the screen. It covers choosing the paper, print method and finish, preparing correct files, proofs and supervision at the printer. Poua Design, with 15 years of experience in branding and print in Athens, takes on design and production together, so business cards, brochures, posters, packaging and invitations come out exactly as designed.
Why printing needs supervision
A file can look perfect on screen and come out wrong on paper: colours that go muddy, text too close to the trim, blacks that aren’t really black, paper that absorbs the ink and kills the detail. A designer who understands production designs differently from the start: choosing colours that reproduce, typography that holds up, finishes that make sense for that particular paper. And is there when the proof comes off the press.

What Poua Design takes on in print production
Business cards
The card is the smallest but often the first printed piece a business hands out. We design cards that last and choose paper and finish to suit the brand’s character: 600 gsm cotton papers, coloured core, letterpress, gold or silver foil stamping, embossing, spot UV, rounded corners, transparent plexiglass. We’ve designed cards for lawyers, engineers, beauty spaces, restaurants, architects and photographers. More in our guide to choosing business card paper and finish.
Corporate stationery
Letterheads, envelopes, folders, notepads, stamps, invoices, presentation cards. The whole set of print a business needs to operate with a single image, designed as a system and produced to the same specifications.
Brochures, catalogues, menus
Tri-folds, bi-folds, product catalogues, restaurant menus, information leaflets. We design the layout so the content reads easily, choose the fold and binding (saddle-stitch, perfect-bound, spiral) and the paper to suit the use: a menu needs lamination or a durable paper, a luxury catalogue needs matte paper with varnish on the photographs. See also brochure and catalogue design.
Posters and event material
Posters for performances, concerts, exhibitions and events, banners, roll-ups, invitations, flags, name tags. For the Chorevma club we designed a series of posters with illustration and bold typography that works from a distance.

Packaging and labels
Roll labels, boxes, sleeves, bags. Packaging has its own production requirements (die-lines, special colours, materials) and we know them well.
Wedding and event invitations
Handmade and printed invitations with letterpress, foil stamping, embossing, rice paper, lined envelopes and sealing wax. Here production is half the result: the same design on the wrong paper isn’t the same invitation. See wedding invitation design.
Signs and signage
Shop signs, plaques, window stickers, interior signage. We design at real scale and work with sign makers on materials (plexiglass, metal, wood, vinyl) and lighting.
Clothing and promotional items
T-shirts with screen printing or transfer, aprons, caps, bags, pens. We choose the print method by fabric and quantity.
How we work with the printer
We work with printers in Athens we trust for each type of job: offset for large quantities, digital for small runs and personalised print, letterpress and foil stamping for luxury print, large-format for posters and banners. We always ask for paper samples before deciding, approve a digital or colour proof and, when the project requires it, we’re present at the first press run. The client receives finished print, not a file.
What we ask from you
The text in final form, logos as vector files (if they exist), photographs in high resolution, the quantity and the date you need the print. If anything is missing, we find it together: photography, copy, illustration.
Frequently asked questions
Can I give you my own design just for printing?
Yes. We check the file (resolution, colours, bleed, fonts), correct it if needed and take on production.
What paper should I choose for business cards?
For prestige professions we suggest cotton or thick matte papers of 400–700 gsm. For commercial use, 350 gsm with matte lamination. We’ll show you samples so you can decide in the hand.
How long does printing take?
Digital printing: 2–4 working days. Offset: 5–10 working days. Special finishes (foil stamping, letterpress, embossing): 7–15 working days. Design comes first.
What’s the difference between offset and digital printing?
Offset gives better quality and a lower cost per piece in large quantities, and allows Pantone colours. Digital is economical for small quantities and fast.
Do you work with clients outside Athens?
Yes. Print is shipped across Greece. We already work with businesses on islands and in the provinces.
